Chocolate Cake Shot

Day 102

Chocolate Cake Shot
2 shots out of 5

I know, I know.......you're all mad at me.

First off.......I'm not a big desserts person.

Second off, I'm not a big chocolate person (I think I just heard someone gasp while reading this).

I hate to say that I didn't extremely like a cocktail that a reader sent into me........but I didn't......sorry (hangs head).

I gave tonight's cocktail 2 shots out of 5.

Honestly to me it didn't taste chocolaty at all.

I completely tasted the Hazelnut in the Frangelico, and I did taste the citron flavor in the vodka as well.

I have to say, the lemon with sugar on top of it ABSOLUTELY did cut the taste a bit, which I did like!

This was a cocktail that I couldn't drink again.........sorry.

I know there are MANY people out there who like his shooter.

When I mention that someone sent me a recipe for a chocolate cake shot, my friends eyes get wide and they look excited about it........guess I'm just one of the rare few who doesn't like this cocktail.

Here is a photo of the end result:

Here is a photo of the ingredients:

Here is the recipe for a Chocolate Cake Shot:

  • 1/2 shot citron vodka
  • 1/2 shot Frangelico
  • lemon wedge
  • sugar

In a shot glass, fill it 1/2 with vodka and the other 1/2 with Frangelico.  Give it a quick stir.  Put a layer of sugar on top of a lemon wedge (you can "kind of" see the sugar on my lemon wedge in the photo, the lemon will absorb most of the sugar).  Shoot the shot glass, then suck on the sugared lemon wedge.

Now I know my friends are going to want to try this, even though I didn't really like it.  So, note to friends, bring over Citron Vodka and Frangelico.......oh and don't forget the lemons!!

Cheers!!
