Malibu Sunrise

Day 86

Malibu Sunrise
4.5 shots out of 5

Happy Friday everyone!

What a week!

Ended the week tonight with a Mother/Son Baseball game at my second oldest's school.

Bring on the weekend.

This is the first year that one of my children has a soccer game on Mother's Day......kind of odd, but we'll roll with it.

I gave tonight's cocktail 4.5 shots out of 5.

I really enjoy the taste of Malibu Rum.  As long as there's a good balance between it and whatever else you are mixing with it.

Sometimes when I get a used to get a Malibu Rum and coke there would be too much rum in it and it would taste....like i had too much Banana Boat Suntan Lotion in my mouth, then afterwords it would leave my mouth feeling sticky or something......yuck.

Anyways, the Malibu Sunrise is a good refreshing cocktail.

I (once again) never thought of mixing Malibu Rum and orange juice together in a cocktail.

Those two being the main ingredients I mean.

After a long week, this cocktail is definitely (when will I learn to spell the word "definitely" right?....darn squiggly red line under the misspelled word) hitting the spot.

Here is the recipe for a Malibu Sunrise:

  • 2 shots Malibu Rum
  • 2 shots orange juice
  • 1/4 shot grenadine

In a hurricane glass, add ice 3/4 of the way up.  Add your Malibu rum and orange juice.  Stir it like a madman so that you mix everything up real good.  Pour your grenadine on top and enjoy!

Cheers to Malibu Rum!  Thanks for tasting amazing and always reminding me of summer!!
